The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation is pleased to welcome Jonathan Solari as the Foundation’s new Director of Development. Jonathan Solari’s long career in the arts combines ambitious philanthropic endeavors with a love for strengthening communities through the exchange of ideas and artistic expression.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s Johnny Jackson Jr. Gospel Is Alive! Celebration presented by Peoples Health will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Avenue. The concert is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of a true legend, Edward “Kidd” Jordan, who left us today. All of us at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation and the Don “Moose” Jamison Heritage School of Music join the global jazz community in expressing our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fans.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s Class Got Brass competition took place on April 2, 2023, outside of the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center. 

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell will hold a one-day sale on single-day advanced tickets to the upcoming 2023 Festival, scheduled for April 28 – May 7.

She’s a worldwide legend, Grammy Award Winner, and an original WWOZ Guardian of the Groove from the earliest days and an active Board Member of the station. She’s played every Jazz Fest since 1974—appearing on multiple stages.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s Class Got Brass competition takes place on Sunday, April 2, 2023. The event will be held at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center (1225 N. Rampart Street). Class Got Brass is free and open to the public.

The Jazz & Heritage Gala is the official kick off celebration to the 2023 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell!

The Tremé Creole Gumbo Festival and the Congo Square Rhythms Festival will happen concurrently on March 25 and 26, 2023. Both events are celebrating the Faubourg Tremé neighborhood as the birthplace of both jazz and so much of the cherished local culture of New Orleans. The festivals will happen throughout Louis Armstrong Park and Congo Square on Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26, with multiple performance stages and large local food and arts markets.
