Jazz & Heritage Vocal Workshops

As one of the Foundation’s most popular programs, the Jazz & Heritage Vocal Workshops began in 2017 as an initiative to increase free music education to children across the Greater New Orleans Area. Led by acclaimed singer and music educator Tonya Boyd-Cannon, these workshops expand the reach of the Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s music education initiatives.  Boyd-Cannon, who has created a dynamic curriculum that teaches the fundamentals of vocal technique, exposes students to the diversity of vocal repertoire, and supports the development of a healthy self-concept.
