Catapult Fund 2022 Announcement

NEW ORLEANS (December 7, 2021) — The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2022 Catapult Fund small business training program. The 2022 Catapult Fund is open to entrepreneurs in the beauty, fashion and jewelry industries. This program is a partnership between the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and Capital One Bank and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center Greater New Orleans and River Region.

The purpose of the Catapult Fund is to encourage innovation and sustainability for entrepreneurs in cultural industries through training and investment. As an education and funding program for entrepreneurs in the arts, the Catapult Fund provides intensive training in best practices for business, along with access to grant funding.

“The Jazz & Heritage Foundation has over the years provided millions of dollars in grant funding to nonprofits and education programs through our Community Partnership Grants. With the explosion of entrepreneurship in our region, we also want to support those businesses working in the arts that are contributing to the development of a sustainable cultural industry.” said Don Marshall, Executive Director of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation.

“The Catapult Fund is an example of how we’re continuing to find ways to support our community with innovative new programs,” Marshall said, adding: “We wanted to distinguish ourselves from other entrepreneurship assistance programs by reaching deep into the grass-roots community, and by providing access to funding as well as business training.”

To be eligible, applicants must have small Louisiana-based businesses in the beauty, fashion, and jewelry industries. These may include: clothing, cosmetics, soaps, hair products, and more. The Catapult Fund provides a 12-session course, over a three-month period, of business training. Sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. All classes will be held virtually via Zoom. Following completion of the training course, participants will be awarded grant funding.
