2024 Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival Full Lineup and Vendor Announcement

The Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival unveiled its daily schedule and a selection of food and craft vendors for the upcoming event set to take place at Lafayette Square (602 St. Charles Ave.) in downtown New Orleans — October 11-13, 2024

Festival-goers can look forward to an impressive lineup of top blues artists, including local legends and nationally acclaimed musicians, ensuring an unforgettable musical experience. Alongside the music, the festival will feature an array of food vendors showcasing a diverse selection of barbecue styles and innovative culinary delights. Additionally, an arts market will highlight the talent of local artisans, offering unique, handmade goods for all.  With free admission and a vibrant ambiance, the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival promises to be a must-attend event for music and food lovers alike, reflecting the lively spirit of New Orleans.

Music

The Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival promises an incredible lineup of musical performances over three days. On Friday, October 11, the festivities kick off at the St. Charles Ave. Stage with the soulful sounds of Marcia Ball at 5:30 PM, followed by the iconic Irma Thomas & the Professionals at 7:00 PM. Saturday, October 12, features dynamic performances on the Camp Street Stage, starting with Les Getrix & Creole Cookin at 11:00 AM, and continuing with Joe Krown + 1 featuring Papa Mali, Nikki Hill, and Chris Thomas King. Meanwhile, the St. Charles Ave. Stage will showcase acts like Sierra Green & the Giants, a tribute to James Cotton, Sue Foley, and concluding with Lil Ed & the Blues Imperials. The final day, Sunday, October 13, features artists such as Sunpie Barnes & the LA Sunspots, Mitch Woods & his Rocket 88s, James Rivers Movement, and Little Freddie King on the Camp Street Stage. The St. Charles Ave. Stage will present performances by Billy Iuso, Eric Lindell, Kenny Neal, and will wrap up with Leyla McCalla, ensuring a memorable end to the festival.


Food

We are celebrating the soulful sounds of the blues with the irresistible flavors of local barbecue. A diverse lineup of food vendors that bring together the best of Southern cuisine will be featured at the festival, each infusing their flair into classic barbecue dishes. The festival’s arts market features an impressive array of craft vendors, each bringing unique, handmade creations. From intricately designed silver and beaded jewelry to vibrant paintings and prints that capture the essence of New Orleans life, there is something to enchant every visitor. Visitors can explore the art market that boasts an exciting selection of artwork, jewelry, clothing, and home decor, all crafted by talented local artisans.

ABOUT THE NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FOUNDATION

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation invests proceeds from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell and additional funds that we raise for year-round programming in education, economic development and cultural enrichment.   Education programs include the Don “Moose” Jamison Heritage School of Music, the Tom Dent Congo Square Lectures, the Class Got Brass competition for school brass bands, a youth audio workshop program, youth vocal workshops, and more! Economic Development initiatives include the Community Partnership Grants, the Catapult Fund accelerator program and Sync Up entertainment industry workshops. Cultural enrichment programs include the Jazz & Heritage Concert Series and annual Foundation Festivals: the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival, the Congo Square Rhythms Festival, the Tremé Creole Gumbo Festival and the Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival.  Importantly, these are free programs that the Jazz and Heritage Foundation has developed over many years to ensure that we give back to Louisiana. The Jazz & Heritage Foundation also owns radio station WWOZ 90.7-FM and the Jazz & Heritage Archive.  In late 2014, the Foundation opened the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center – an education and community facility named for the late Jazz Fest founder George Wein and his wife Joyce.  In March of 2020, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation established the Jazz & Heritage Music Relief Fund – a statewide relief fund to support Louisiana musicians who were affected by the pandemic. In the last two years the Jazz & Heritage Foundation has been able to provide relief funds of more than $2 million dollars supporting musicians, music industry gig workers, Black Masking Indians and other indigenous cultural practitioners.
