We’ve combined two of our favorite festivals into one! The Tremé Creole Gumbo and Congo Square Rhythms festivals sit on the outskirts of the French Quarter in Tremé, celebrating the neighborhood as a key proving ground in the birthplace of jazz! The Tremé Creole Gumbo and Congo Square Rhythms Festivals are a syncopated tribute to the contributions of New Orleans historic Tremé neighborhood, with dozens of local band performances and many of the city’s top restaurants offer their version of New Orleans’ culinary staples.

The weekend celebration will pay homage to the many traditions that trace back to Congo Square – including brass bands, Mardi Gras Indians, the food, art, dance and rhythms from Africa, the Caribbean and the Gulf South.

The festivals take place from 10:45am to 7:30 p.m. at Louis Armstrong Park, 701 N. Rampart St., New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, March 26th and Sunday, March 27th.

This is a “rain or shine” event.  There will be no refunds for cancellations due to weather.  Previous participation in this festival does not guarantee acceptance. We are now accepting applications for all arts and crafts mediums and disciplines which feature unique and original handmade works, as well as imported goods.

Jury Process

This is a juried show. Applications are judged by an anonymous jury on a number of different criteria, including but not limited to: originality and uniqueness of work; work that is hand-crafted; craftsmanship/ technique; and suitability for the festival.

Four digital images are required as part of your application (not to exceed 2MB per image). Image quality is essential and can make a difference in your acceptance, as the jury has only your digital images with which to judge your work. The best image is one that is fully framed with the artist’s single work, is well lit, and is representative of the body of work intended for exhibition. Your booth image should show your booth as it is set up for exhibition at an outdoor show, tent included.

Kids Tent

We are also seeking a limited number of artists to lead a one-hour workshop for our  Kids Craft Tent. We ask that you provide all of the materials in exchange for a $50 discount on your booth fee.  Your booth fee will be $150.

The deadline to submit an application is Monday, December 12 at 10:00 pm (CT).
