Marsha A. Boudy (1954-2016)


Marsha Alexander Boudy, the Chief Administrative Officer of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc., and a 35-year employee, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, as a result of complications from a recent heart attack.  She was 61 years old.

Mrs. Boudy was born in New Orleans on July 14, 1954.  She was raised by her adoptive parents, the late Edward and Cora Lee Alexander. She was a 1972 graduate of McDonogh 35 Senior High School and attended Southern University at New Orleans.

Marsha was a devoted member of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research for 3 years.

Marsha leaves to cherish her love and kindness her loving husband, Darrell Boudy, two loving daughters, Cora Lee (Samuel) Jenkins of Houston, Texas, and Bianca Daniels of New Orleans, 5 adorable grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, plus a host of relatives and friends, including the N. O. Jazz & Heritage Foundation family and friends.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at Dillard University’s Lawless Memorial Chapel, 2601 Gentilly Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70122, followed by a Second Line Jazz Procession. Visitation with the family at is 8:00 a.m.

A Repast will follow at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center, 1225 North Rampart Street. All musicians are invited to bring their instruments to participate in a Jazz Session honoring Marsha Alexander Boudy starting at 11:30 a.m.
