Sync Up Cinema
Friday, Nov. 9
6:00 p.m.

The next event in our series of Sync Up Cinema quarterly networking workshops will feature a conversation with actor/writer/director Yolanda Ross.

Yolanda Ross is perhaps best known for her current role as Jada in the Showtime drama “The Chi.” But she has had a long career performing in theater, on TV and in movies. Notably, she was in the hit TV show “24” and has appeared in various episodes of “Law & Order.” No stranger to New Orleans, she also had a recurring role as Dana Lyndsey in the HBO series “Treme.”

She’s back in New Orleans, where she is planning to shoot her directorial debut, “Scenes From Our Marriage,” in which she will star with her “Treme” cast-mate Clarke Peters. Ross will be joined in the discussion by New Orleans-based Sasha Soludikhina, who is producing "Scenes From Our Marriage.

The event also includes screenings of short films, including "Breaking Night," another film that Ross made in New Orleans, plus "The Funeral Band," a short that recently debuted at the New Orleans Film Festival.

The evening also features complimentary cocktails provided by Belle Isle Premium Moonshine.
