"This festival contains the greatest collection of Cajun and zydeco artists for any festival in the city and perhaps the state."
-- Charles Laborde, host of "Lache Pas," the weekly Cajun and zydeco show heard on WWOZ-FM

Welcome to the 2018 Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival – the 12th annual edition of New Orleans’ only festival that features exclusively Cajun and zydeco music. The festival takes place Saturday, June 23, and Sunday, June 24, in Armstrong Park in downtown New Orleans. Admission is free.

Once again, we’ll present a stellar lineup that includes many of Louisiana’s most beloved Cajun and zydeco performers. Newly-crowned Grammy winners (and CZF regulars) The Lost Bayou Ramblers will headline the festival this year, as will Grammy nominee Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers.

We also have a special focus this year on “trail ride” music, featuring the hot zydeco popular on the bridle paths of southwest Louisiana: Li'l Nathan & the Zydeco Big Timers, Chris Ardoin & NuStep and Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band, all of them hot on the trail riding circuit, will be among this year’s performers.

As always, we’ll have great seafood, a large arts market, activities for kids and lots of misting fans to keep everyone cool.

The Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival takes place in Louis Armstrong Park (701 N. Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70116).

The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) bus route No. 91 (Jackson-Esplanade) passes directly in front of Armstrong Park. So does the Rampart-St. Claude streetcar. See the route map here. The fare is $1.25 each way.

Our friends at Bike Easy will set up a bicycle valet at Armstrong Park, so you can ride to the festival and park it safely – for free!

Parking is available at the Basin Street Station parking lot (501 Basin St.) for $20 per day.

As at all of our events, we'll have a huge crafts fair, with 24 of the best artisans in the region selling hand-made art, jewelry and other crafts. See the complete list of Arts Market vendors here.

It's the season for seafood, so that's what our diverse group of food vendors will feature. Louisiana oysters, shrimp, catfish, crab, boudin and alligator are on the menu. With 10 vendors of savory entrees and four for cool and refreshing desserts, there's a taste of something for everyone. For the complete list of food vendors and their menus, see here.

Yes, it's hot in New Orleans in June. But we'll help you keep your cool as you boot-scoot to the two-step beat with a half-dozen misting fans provided by our friends at Mist Works.

We’re setting up a Kids Tent so parents can let their children enjoy supervised creative activities while they boogie to the music. Even better, we are partnering with the artisan craft vendors at the festival to lead instructional workshops for the kids. The Kids Craft Tent closts at 6 p.m. both days of the festival. See the full schedule of Kids Tent craft workshops here.

Food, Drinks, Chairs, Pets, etc.:
The Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival is a free event. Donations are gratefully accepted. Please help us to keep this and our other events free by patronizing our food and beverage vendors. Except for those with specific dietary restrictions or special needs, we ask that you not bring coolers or ice chests with outside food and beverages. Camp chairs or folding chairs are welcome. Please respect our other guests by not bringing pets to the festival. Thank you.

Please, no audio or video recording of any performances at the festival.

The Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival recycles. Please use the designated receptacles for your plastic and aluminum disposables.

All Jazz & Heritage Foundation outdoor events are “rain or shine.” We don’t cancel unless there is danger from lightning (the stage is covered, so the music can go on – just the dancers get wet), and we never postpone or reschedule.
