2014 Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival Official T-Shirt Design Winners

As we’ve done for the past several years, we conducted a contest to design the official T-shirt of the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival.

We had nearly 50 entries this year, and we liked them so much that we couldn’t pick just one. So we’ll offer two T-shirts this year.

The winning designers are:

Jeff Ipjian, a 26-year- old designer from Seal Beach, California. Jeff designs for the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club and the Honda Center Entertainment venue in Anaheim, California. He is a graduate of the BFA Graphic Design Program at California State University, Long Beach. Jeff says: “I have been teaching  myself various instruments from guitar to drums over the past 12 years and love to play music in my free time. Naturally, my love of design and music has merged and created a great passion for artwork within the music industry. I have a collection of vinyl records and gig posters that keeps my passion going. I am always looking for new opportunities to be creative and to design for awesome events.”

Lonnie Walker of Prospect, Kentucky (a rural suburb on the outskirts of Louisville) is an award-winning designer, illustrator and owner of PrimoGraphics, Inc., a studio he founded in 1999. His experience includes lithography, screen-printing, design studios and ad agencies over the past 30 years. He did the official poster of the Kentucky Derby Festival in 2000 and 2013, and he has worked on design projects for many large and small companies and events, including Coca-Cola, Six Flags Theme Parks, the Houston Symphony and the Rose Bowl Parade, among others.

Lonnie designed what we call the “pig shirt,” and Jeff designed the shirt with the half-moon image.

Both designers will get a cash prize of $500, along with bragging rights. Many thanks to them both!
