The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation is proud to present the third annual Fiesta Latina, a celebration of Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean, and their influence on the music, food and culture of New Orleans.

This free festival will take place Saturday, Nov. 21, at Zephyr Field (6000 Airline Highway, Metairie, LA - Map This Location), from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Performers include many of the area's favorite Latin, Brazilian and Caribbean artists, including Grupo Fantasma, Rumba Buena, Fredy Omar, Otra, Vivaz, Som Brasil, Mariachi Agave, AsheSon, Julio & Cesar, the flamenco group Ven Pa' Ca and many others.

"This is the first time the Jazz & Heritage Foundation has done an event in Jefferson Parish, and we're thrilled to bring a little taste of Jazz Fest — with a Latin twist — to that part of our community," said Don Marshall, the foundation's executive director.

Special guest artists include: Gereba, an eight-piece group from Brazil; the harpist Patrice Fisher will be joined by Mexican musicians Javier Cabrera Jasso and Miguel Martinez and Alejandro Chavez; Tony Dez, a reggaeton artist from Puerto Rico; Yerba Klan, a reggaeton group from Honduras; 4 Ever, a bachata group from Puerto Rico; and a demonstration of the Afro-Brazilian martial art capoeira by Grupo Maculele.

In addition to two stages of music and a dance floor, there will be soccer games and clinics for kids and adults, plus an array of food vendors, a large crafts fair and 30 nonprofit organizations offering information about their community support activities.

Soccer
Fiesta Latina will feature fútbol matches for men, women and kids, plus soccer drills and clinics for kids. For information about participating, please contact Erik Kugler of Soccer In The Streets. Note: All soccer participants must sign a liability waiver.

La Cocinita
The festival offers a delicious selection of food items from some of the area's best restaurants, including: Baru Bistro & Tapas, Taqueria Chilangos, Brazilian Market & Café and several others.

El Mercadito
A large assortment of local artists, artisans and craft makers will be on hand in our mercadito, or craft marketplace. For a complete list of craft vendors, please see here.

Nonprofits
Some 30 community support agencies will provide information about the services they provide to the region.

Parking
Parking is plentiful at Zephyr Field; the fee for parking is $5 per vehicle.

Site location
Fiesta Latina will take place in the soccer field that is just behind the Zephyr Stadium right field wall — on the side of the park closest to the New Orleans Saints practice facility and to downtown New Orleans. (We are not located in LaSalle Park, which is on the opposite side of the parking lot.)
