Congo Square New World Rhythms Festival
Location mapped above.
The sixth annual Congo Square New World Rhythms Festival is New Orleans' premier world music event, showcasing the cultural influence of Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean on the Crescent City.
The festival takes place in conjunction with the Tom Dent Congo Square Symposium, which will be held March 22, and the second annual Class Got Brass competition for Louisiana middle and high school brass bands.
NEW IN 2013: KIDS STAGE
This year, we're adding a stage that will feature performances by youth groups from local schools. School-based vocal and instrumental groups are invited to submit an application to perform at the festival. We're especially interested in gospel choirs and jazz groups - but all styles of music are welcome. Please submit an application to perform by clicking here.
