The first annual Brass Menagerie Parade will roll through the French Quarter and the Marigny.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and its radio station, WWOZ 90.7FM, will host the first annual Brass Menagerie Parade and Brass Ball fundraising party on Saturday, Nov. 8.

The Brass Menagerie Parade will feature a who's who of New Orleans brass bands as well as 10 of New Orleans’ favorite marching krewes, among them the Krewe of Roux La La and the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus.

The public is invited to join the parade. It will line up beginning at 6 p.m. on 527 Elysian Fields Avenue.  The parade will roll starting at 8 p.m. on a route that will take it through the French Quarter and the Faubourg Marigny. If you love New Orleans brass bands, this is one you won't want to miss. Among the performers marching in the parade will be the Stooges, the Hot 8, the Lagniappe, the Pocket Aces, the Free Agents and the New Breed brass bands.

When the Brass Menagerie Parade ends, the Brass Ball party begins – at 9 p.m., at the Blue Nile (532 Frenchmen Street). Performers include Big Sam’s Funky Nation and DJ Brice Nice. Admission is $15 in advance (link?), and $20 at the door. Proceeds benefit WWOZ, an award-winning, noncommercial  radio station.
